The platform

Timesheet software built for how overtime actually works.

Most timesheet tools stop at capturing hours and leave overtime to a spreadsheet. In A Tick runs the whole path from clock-in to payroll: a no-code overtime calculation engine, one-click approvals with delegation, multi-region rules, and payroll-ready export — with an audit trail behind every number.

Overtime calculation software

A no-code engine that turns hours into rate codes.

Overtime is where timesheets get expensive to get wrong. Model your region's rules visually and the engine does the rest — deterministically, the same way every time.

Six rule types, zero code

Daily thresholds, weekly caps, consecutive-day rules, time-of-day windows, day-type multipliers and stacked rates. Configure them per region and the engine buckets every minute into the right rate code — built on cross-referenced research into local rules, and never left to AI.

Deterministic by design

Pay is too important to guess. Given the same entries and the same rules, the engine always produces the same rate codes and multipliers — auditable, reproducible, and safe to hand to payroll.

  • Rules configured per region, not hard-coded
  • Every minute mapped to one rate code
  • Stacked multipliers for overlapping rules
  • Reproducible results you can audit

Everything between clock-in and payroll

One platform for the whole timesheet lifecycle.

Tracking, approvals, overtime, multi-region rules, payroll export and audit — in one place, so nothing falls between the tools.

Time tracking & timesheets

Log time by day against projects and time types, submit a period for approval, and see running totals and overtime as you go — no spreadsheets, no reconciling tabs.

Approvals & delegation

One inbox for every submitted timesheet. Approve, query or delegate for a date range — every decision recorded against the person who made it.

Multi-region by design

Per-region rules, time periods, time types and local names — one organisation, no per-country instances to keep in sync.

AI-powered actions

Suggested entries, plain-language week summaries and pre-payroll anomaly flags — the busywork around timesheets, never the pay rules themselves.

Full audit trail

Every transition, approval, rejection, delegation and calculation is recorded. Payroll integrity by default, not by request.

Payroll-ready export

Approved periods export as CSV with employee, date, time type, rate code, hours and multiplier — ready to hand straight to payroll.

Product FAQ

Questions about tracking, overtime and approvals.

The details teams ask about before they move their timesheets over.

How does the overtime calculation engine work?
You model your region's rules once — daily thresholds, weekly caps, consecutive-day rules, time-of-day windows and day-type multipliers — and the engine buckets every logged minute into the correct rate code. It is fully deterministic: the same timesheet always produces the same result, so your pay calculations are never left to AI.
Which overtime rules can it model without code?
Six rule types cover the vast majority of awards and agreements: daily thresholds (e.g. over 8 hours), weekly caps, consecutive-day rules, time-of-day windows, day-type rules (weekends and public holidays) and stacked multipliers. Rules are configured per region, so different jurisdictions can run entirely different logic under one organisation.
Does the approval workflow support delegation?
Yes. Submitted timesheets land in a single approvals inbox. Approvers can approve, query or reject, and delegate approval authority for a date range when they are away. Every decision — including who delegated to whom — is written to the audit trail.
Can one organisation run multiple regions?
Multi-region is built in, not bolted on. Each region carries its own overtime rules, time periods, time types and local terminology, while rolling up to one organisation. There is no separate instance to manage per country.
How does data get to payroll?
Approved periods export as payroll-ready CSV — employee, date, time type, rate code, hours and multiplier, one row per bucket. Premium plans can map columns to your payroll provider's format or connect a direct payroll integration to skip the CSV step entirely.
Where does AI fit — and where does it not?
AI clears the busywork around your timesheets: suggested entries drawn from calendar and Jira activity, plain-language week summaries for line leaders, and anomalies flagged before payroll sees them. It never touches your pay rules or rate calculations — those stay deterministic.
